While endoscopic examinations in our practice are only partly covered by public health insurance (SVS, KFA, screening colonoscopy from 50 years of age for all health insurance companies), with the exception of KFA-insured patients we carry out operations exclusively as a private practice. This means that every patient is considered a private patient.
The cost of a necessary inpatient stay in a private hospital is covered by your supplementary insurance.
If you do not have any additional insurance, part of the costs will be covered by your social insurance and an additional payment would be required for treatment in a private hospital.
We would be happy to inform you about the expected costs.
The surgery on KFA-insured patients can be covered by public health insurance in the Hera sanatorium, 1090 Vienna.
For patients who are insured by ÖGK-W, BVAEB, or SVS, the benefits cannot be billed directly with the health insurance. (Exception: Screening colonoscopy in patients over 50 years)
You must therefore pay the costs yourself first.
You can then submit the paid fee invoice to your health insurance company to request a reimbursement. However, the health insurance company only covers part of the costs of the private doctor (see cost reimbursement for private doctor fees ** linked). The rest is to be paid by the patient itself.
If you have a private supplementary insurance, most of the additional costs will be borne entirely by it.
* Tariffs valid from 1.7.2019 (ÖGK-W reimburses 80% of the health insurance tariff fund, i.e. the amount that a contract doctor receives.)
** Tariffs valid from 1.1.2020
The prices listed are orientation prices less any deductible. For more information, please contact your insurance company.
